WHAT WILL THE world look like once we’ve made it through the COVID-19 crisis? To what extent will society return to normal, and to what extent will it be changed in fundamental ways?

To answer those questions, we asked experts to take closer looks at the impact the coronavirus will have in three distinct areas: education, work, and the economy. They all predict that the near future will look very different from the familiar past. But they also note that some changes ushered in by COVID-19 were already on the horizon; the pandemic has just shortened the timeline for their arrival. And they all believe that society will be able to adapt to the coming changes—but we have to prepare now for a very different world.
