Over the summer, Denise M. Rotondo took her
new position as dean of the Richard J. Wehle
School of Business at Canisius College in Buffalo,
New York. She was formerly dean of the School of
Business at the State University of New York, Geneseo,
and brings with her more than two decades of
experience as a faculty member and administrator.
In August, Joan Phillips became dean of the
Andreas School of Business at Barry University in
Miami, Florida. She was previously at the Quinlan
School of Business at Loyola University Chicago,
where her positions included marketing professor,
graduate program director, department chair, and
associate dean. Phillips also was a fellow of the
American Council on Education in 2015–2016.
Kevin F. Hallock has been named the new dean
of Cornell University’s SC Johnson College of Business
in Ithaca, New York. Hallock most recently was
the Kenneth F. Kahn ’69 Dean and Joseph R. Rich
’80 Professor in the university's School of Industrial
and Labor Relations (ILR), where he guided the
school through a strategic planning process, invested
in the student experience, and introduced an
ILR initiative designed to bring together students,
staff, and faculty around a common theme. Hallock
began his new role December 15.
Ajay Agrawal of the Rotman School of Management
is the inaugural holder of the Geoff Taber
Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the
University of Toronto in Ontario, Canada. The chair
honors the late Taber, a co-founder of Rotman's
Creative Destruction Lab, who died two years ago
in a house fire. The Geoff Taber Memorial Award
at the Faculty of Law, the Geoff Taber Memorial
Scholarship at the Rotman School, and the Geoff
Taber Chair in Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Rotman were established in his memory and are
funded by more than CAN$2.5 million raised by the
university community.
